FOXBORO – CWE Express made a statement in their opening game at the 2022 Sr. Chowder Cup on Thursday morning. They defeated Team North America 5-1 in Jr. A division play at the Foxboro Sports Center.
While CWE eventually rolled to victory, it was a tight contest through the first half, both teams scoring early for a 1-1 draw through the opening 25 minutes.
Things exploded in the second, CWE again starting early and pumping away four in the frame to coast to their 5-1 victory.
Each of CWE’s five goals came from five different CWE skaters. Matt Gagnon (1G, 1A), Joey Pankowski (1G, 1A) and Hunter Dunn (2A) went down as the game’s only multipoint scorers.
Ryan McNally was credited with the lone Team North America goal.
