WALPOLE – Valor Hockey Group (Red) posted a 3-1 win in their opening game of the 2025 Pre Draft Showcase. They did so by defeating Advocate Athlete Elite on Friday in Jr. A Elite division play at Cadillac Arena.
The contest was tight throughout, Valor making it through the first half with a slim, 1-0 advantage on a Jack Martin goal.
Even in the second, they were never able to break away from Advocate Athlete. They extended their lead to 2-0, but Zach Mackeil had the deficit back to one when he put Advocate Athlete on the scoreboard around the middle of the frame.
It was as close as they ever got, however, a late goal extending the lead back to two for Valor, while goaltender Jason Cai kept the opposition off the board down the stretch in the second to close out the 3-1 win.
Mikie Solominsky and Hugo Daniel were credited with Valor’s second half goals.
