Three-fer first guides Somang.

FOXBORO – Somang Hockey U16 took advantage of the first period en route to their first victory of the 2018 Midget Fall Classic on Sunday morning. They defeated the Boston Jr. Terriers 5-2 at Foxboro Sports Center.

The eventual victors struck three times in the opening frame to set the tone for the contest. A pair of goals for Yannic Bauer – including one on the power play – and one from Ryusei Kawamura staked Somang their 3-0 lead they had at the end of the half.

Coming back to the ice for the seconds, the two sides played to a 2-2 draw in the latter frame to close out the game. A pair of goals from Terrier Matthew Gill sandwiched a goal each from Somang’s Gabriel Lafortune and Jayson Bujold to account for the second half scoring.

Lea Morissette was the goaltender of record for Somang.
