Strong start for CWE Express.

FOXBORO – CWE Express started strong at the 2023 Chowder Cup with a 5-1 Jr. A division win over Power Play Hockey on Thursday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center.

It was a strong start to the tournament and a strong start to the game for CWE as they put together a 3-1 first half lead they carried into the halftime intermission. Xavier Rivard led the offensive charge with two goals in the frame for CWE. Matthew Fortin accounted for the third.

Fortin was back at it in the second half as he added his second of the game, while Kyle Murray-Smith chipped one in as well and Ryan Henry closed the door in the CWE net to finalize the tournament opening win.

Dylan Kinzer was credited with Power Play’s first half goal.
