CANTON – Black Bears East posted a 5-0 shutout of the Minuteman Flames on Friday afternoon to open their College Open slate at the 2023 Chowder Cup.
Things got going in the first and the Black Bears did not look back as they amassed a 3-0 lead through the game’s opening frame. Tyler Webb, Landon Wharton and Trevor Stenglein each credited with a goal in the first.
It was another for Tyler Webb and one for Camden Lathrop in the second as the Black Bears continued their assault and ran their lead to 5-0.
While the offense did their job on their end of the ice, netminder James Mikos did his job on the other, turning aside any Minuteman attempt to post the tournament opening shutout.
