Blues run past Mustangs in second.

ATTLEBORO – In their quest for advancement to the championship round of the 2023 Mini Chowder Cup, the Boston Jr. Blues ’10 posted a 6-4 win over the Mustangs on Saturday morning at the New England Sports Village.

A low scoring affair in the first – just a 2-1 lead for the Mustangs at the end of the opening frame – turned into a high scoring, back-and-forth thriller in the second.

The second half saw Boston rally and take the lead, only for the Mustangs to comeback themselves, before Boston turned the tide again to put away the 6-4 victory.

For the victors, three players were credited with multipoint games, James Johnson leading the way with two goals and an assist. Cole Tapper (1G, 1A) and Raymond Daigle (2A) were the other two Blues with multiple points.

The Mustangs saw each of their goals come from a different skater. Drew Schuhow, Kaishi Egashira, Teddy Kowalchick and PJ Fallot all credited with a goal in the contest.
