FOXBORO – It was a tight one on Saturday at the Foxboro Sports Center between the Lady Whalers and CT Jr. Eagles. The Whalers just sneaking past with a 3-2 win at the 2022 Women’s Chowder Cup.
Neither team able to fully breakaway from their foe, the two sides played to a 1-1 draw through the first half. Ashley Mandeville for the Whalers and the Eagles Skyler Kline were the credited goal scorers in the opening session.
The second half played out in similar fashion, but this time around it was the Whalers getting the one more goal they needed for the victory. Elizabeth Allen and Rachel Zhao were the two goal scorers for the Whalers, while Samantha Richard chipped in the final goal of the contest for the Eagles.
Alexxsa Caron went on record as the winning goaltender.
