ROCKLAND – After opening the tournament with some struggles, 79 Hockey closed out the preliminary round at the 2023 Mini Chowder Cup in fine fashion Saturday afternoon at Lovell Arena. They doubled up EHD Elites 4-2 for the 2010 Elite division win.
The two sides played each half to a 2-1 result favoring 79 to account for the 4-2 final.
The balanced scores were equaled by a balanced attack for 79 Hockey, all four goals coming from a different scorer. Colin Walsh and Sam Fishbone credited with the first half goals, Sam Spavento and Rylen Moore in the second.
Mason Proulx and Michael Shook accounted for the two EHD goals.
Jaxson Flemming manned the 79 net for the win.
