THAYER – Once they got going at New England Pro Am’s 35th annual Pre Draft Showcase, Rapid Hockey BJT really got going. There was an offensive explosion in the game’s second half that paced an 8-1 victory over Edge Hockey Skills on Friday morning at the Thayer Sports Center.
It was a tight contest through the first as Rapid had just a 2-1 advantage at the break. When the teams returned to the ice, however, things took a turn.
Rapid struck for six in the latter frame while goaltender Tanner Ball, coming on in relief of Tyler Lang, stepped between the Rapid pipes to close the door on the 8-1 victory.
Kenny Thurston, Brennan Lashomb, Joseph Pankowski and Tyler Butts all finished the contest credited with multiple points for Rapid Hockey. Pankowski led the way with a game-high three points (2G, 1A).
