THAYER – The Salt City Prospects (Grey) started their journey at the 35th annual Pre Draft Showcase with a win on Friday afternoon. They defeated Nomadic Hockey 5-2 in Jr. A division play at the Thayer Sports Center.
It was a tight contest through the first as Salt City held just a 2-1 advantage heading into the halftime break. Owen Check and John McLachlan were on the board for Salt City, while Josh Mason was credited with the Nomadic score.
Salt City’s offense went back to work in the second as McLachlan added a second and Austin Jerzak and Braylen Tuff each added a score. Kain Walker doubled Nomadic’s goal total to two, but there was no comeback to be had in the 5-2 contest.
Mason Jones was credited with the win in the Salt Lake net.
