Eels slither past Rebels, 5-3.

ATTLEBORO – The Eels (Black) posted a 5-3 victory when they met the RI Rebels on the New England Sports Village ice on Friday evening at the 2023 Chowder Cup.

It was an even start and finish to the game’s first half. A Rebel goal in the first (from Brady Fitzpatrick) and last (from Landon Freitas) minute of the period sandwiched a pair of Eels goals. Evan Longval and Dylan Azzopardi credited with the scores.

The even scoring became lopsided in the Eels favor in the second as they ran off three-straight to take firm control of the contest.

A late goal Jake Harrington cut into the Rebels deficit, but with just 1:38 remaining on the game clock there was not enough time remaining to mount a comeback. The Eels held their two-goal advantage the rest of the way to close out the 5-3 victory.

Azzopardi (2G), Dylan Hineman (1G, 1A), Mookie Killen (1G, 1A) and Jackson Carnes (2A) all finished with multiple points in the contest for the Eels.
