Eastern Canada Prospects explode past Mountain Militia in second.

CANTON – After dropping their first game of the 2023 Chowder Cup on Thursday, the Eastern Canada Prospects rallied for the win in their second, when they rallied in the second for a come-from-behind win over Mountain Militia on Friday afternoon at the Canton Sportsplex.

Scoring was slow at the start as much of the game’s first half was played scoreless. A Mountain Militia goal from Graham Schuman near the midpoint of the frame accounting for the only goal in the opening period.

The second started in similar fashion. Lucas Dayler tied the game up for Eastern in the opening minute and the score remained 1-1 until deep into the frame.

Goals then came at a torrid pace over the game’s final five minutes. The two sides traded goals, before Eastern forwards Patrick Extraisk and Diven Appolloen struck in succession to put their side ahead for good and close out the 4-2 win.

Netminder Steven Torres took credit for the win in the Prospects’ goal cage.

Schuman accounted for both Militia goals, both of which were assisted on by Beck Weatherred.
