Arsenal downs Dukes, 3-1

Soper helps team back to .500.

FOXBORO – After dropping their tournament opener 6-2 on Thursday, Arsenal Hockey rebounded nicely in their second game of the Jr. A Elite Division, scoring a 3-1 victory over the CD Dukes on Friday at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Jimmy Soper played the role of hero for Arsenal, providing all the offense his side would need, netting all three goals, the first coming at 18:19 of the opening half, the only score in the frame.

Josh Supryka tied it up for the Dukes early in the second half, making it 1-1 with his goal at 5:57, setting the stage for Soper. The Kitchener Rangers’ (OHL) product broke the tie with his second of the game at 22:25, then polished off his hat trick with an empty net goal with just two seconds remaining, bring the score to its 3-1 final.
