Rhody over SeaDogs

FOXBORO – It was a tough start to the 2016 Mini Chowder Cup for the Rhode Island Saints, dropping both of their Friday games. Things have begun to turn around as the Saints won their first of two Saturday games, 3-1 over the SeaDogs at Foxboro Sports Center.

In search of their first win, the Saints came out in the first and put themselves in good position, building a 2-0 advantage in the game’s first 20:00. Everett Misto and Nolan Boucher credited with the goals for Rhode Island.

It was not long into the second the SeaDogs started to chip away at their deficit, Josh Milso cutting it in half at 2:11. The SeaDogs threatened, but the rally did not gain any more traction in the scoring column, while the Saints pushed further away.

After assisting on his side’s first two goals, Connor Little got one of his own just before the game’s final buzzer. The Saints forward completed his game-high three points (1G, 2A) and the 3-1 final with just five seconds remaining on the clock.
