Pro Hockey Blue closes out Knights

FOXBORO – There is still hockey to be played, but it has been a good start to the 2016 Mini Chowder Cup for Pro Hockey Blue. They ran their ’02 division preliminary round record to 3-0-0 on Saturday morning, coming on late to close out a 2-0 victory over the NH Knights at Foxboro Sports Center.

Defense and goaltending carried the game at its onset, the first half played to a 0-0 tie. The second half started in similar fashion, less than a quarter of the game remaining before either team broke into the scoring column.

It was not until 10:08 of the second half Pro Hockey got on the board, Matthew Romer netting his first of the tournament. With their back end holding strong, Romer’s tally was all that would have been needed, but Pro Hockey added one more for insurance. Riley Bezeau setting up Hunter Longhi for the 2-0 closing score at 14:44.
