WALPOLE – The Western Selects earned themselves a 2024 Mini Chowder Cup 2011 Elite division win on Friday evening. They did so when they hung a 7-0 route on 3C Elite Hockey at Cadillac Arena in Walpole.
Western set the game’s tone in the game’s first half. They opened the contest with a dominant frame that saw them take a 5-0 advantage into the intermission. Brody Trost scored twice, and Ashton Wamboldt, Easton Scott and Andrew Meyers each scored once in the assault.
Meyers added a second in the second and Cameron Cline also contributed a score for good measure as Western completed their dominant victory.
It was two goals apiece for Meyers and Trost to lead the offensive attack, though Ethan Zhang (3A) finished with a game-high three points.
Goaltender Aydan Jones shut things down on the defensive end, credited with the shutout victory for Western.
