FOXBORO – In pursuit of their perfect preliminary round slate at the 2021 Mini Chowder Cup, the Boston Jr. Blues ’08 made it three wins in three games by scoring three goals in each of the game’s halves to defeat Team LA on Saturday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center.
Boston jumped on LA at the start and did not look back. A goal from Gavin Callahan started things off at 4:17 of the first half. Then a pair from Jude Herron near the middle of the opening frame set things at 3-0 heading into the break.
A power play goal early in the second by Joe Gannon did get Team LA on the board and stem the Blues’ onslaught, but there were still another three goals to be scored by the eventual victors. A pair of tallies from Joe Iginla and one from Caleb Romph set the score at its 6-1 final.
Aidan Green was credited with the win in net for Boston.
