Terriers win third straight U16 title. Ryan PomPositionelli named MVP.

FOXBORO – The Boston Jr. Terriers are seemingly becoming as tradition as the tournament itself. For the third straight year, the Terriers claimed the U16 Championship, this by virtue of a 5-1 victory over the Boch Militia as the 2017 incarnation came to an end Monday at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Both teams got on the board early, but the defenses were better at the game’s onset. All chances were thwarted while the score remained 1-1. As the game went past its midpoint, however, the Terriers’ offense found its stride and completely toppled the scales in their favor.

Ryan Boyajian broke the tie at 16:29 then added a little insurance four minutes later off a beautiful feed from Aiden Flynn to make it 3-1. As the minutes ticked away, the Terriers kept getting better.

Matt Talarico added Boston’s fourth goal at 20:40 and Flynn capped things off with the game’s concluding goal at 22:03, finalizing the 5-1 score.

With two points apiece, Boyajian (2G) and Flynn (1G, 1A) led the game in scoring. Ryan Juffre was credited with the Militia’s lone tally.
