Team America caps Day 1 with win.

FOXBORO – As the midpoint of preliminary round play drew near, Team America notched their first win of the tournament. They defeated N’Ice Stix Hockey 3-1 on Friday night to close out the opening day of the 2019 Mini Chowder Cup at the Foxboro Sports

After the two teams played to a 0-0 draw in the game’s opening half, things picked up on the scoresheet in the second. Stix struck just once on a Jack Gallo goal, while Team America played a more evenly paced half, spreading three tallies throughout to secure the victory.

Kash Crawford, Brady Trout and Aidan Petroff got the notoriety as the goal scorers for Team America. It was Geno Carcone, however, who lead the victor’s offense with a pair of assists, setting up his team’s first goal and the eventual game-winner.

JJ Salajko posted the win in net.
