FOXBORO – The Quebec Prospects made a long first day at the 2019 Pre-Draft Showcase for Coast 2 Coast even longer as they were downed by a score of 6-3 later on Friday at the Foxboro Sports Center.
Quebec wasted little time getting started, Altti Nykanen putting them on the scoreboard just 2:58 after the game’s opening puck drop. Nykanen scored another, as did Jacob Bigras, putting three on the board for the Prospects, while Jeremy Duguay scored for Coast 2 Coast at 9:58 to set a score of 3-1 in favor of Quebec at the break.
Coming back onto the ice, it was all Quebec once again and they did so early, Jeremy Brigas scoring this time around, just 1:45 into the second. It was the first of another three scored in the half by Quebec. Coast 2 Coast did triple their score in frame – goals from Cody Dias and Brenden Heard – but it was not enough to catch their foes. The game finished with a score of 6-3 in favor of Quebec.
Nykanen (2G) and Massimo Pietroniro (2A) led the contest in scoring with two points apiece, while Philippe Larue was credited with the win in net for the Prospects.
