BRIDGEWATER – The Little Rhody Hockey Club put a nice cap on their second day of play at the 2018 Jr. Chowder Cup. They shutout Townshend Selects ’02 5-0 on Friday at the Bridgewater Ice Arena.
Twice Little Rhody found the back of the net in the game’s opening 25-minutes. AJ Saccoccio was first on the score sheet with his goal at 11:47. Benjamin Jenkinson then doubled the club’s lead to 2-0 at 19:05.
Despite having enough after the first, Rhody went on to better their performance in the second half, notching three more entries on the score sheet. There was a second of the game for Jenkinson at 15:47, a score that came sandwiched between goals by William Healey and Cam Adamec. The trifecta of scores solidifying the 5-0 victory for Little Rhody.
Jenkinson, a St. George’s School product, was the game’s only multipoint getter with his pair of goals.
Netminder Nate Hopkins got credit for backstopping the clean sheet for Rhody.
