Kanaly Closes Out Wolfpack Early

Drop six in the first en route to 8-1 dismantling.

BRIDGEWATER – Team Kanaly made it a strong start to the second full day of play at the 2016 New England Pro-Am Pre-Draft Showcase. They quickly took care of the Junior Wolfpack Futures with a six-goal first half on their way to an 8-1 victory Saturday morning at Bridgewater Ice Arena.

The assault started early for Kanaly, as David Kaplan had his side on the board first with a tally just 4:13 after the opening faceoff. The Wolfpack had it briefly back to even on a goal by Matt Longobardi at 6:07, but Kaplan’s second just about a minute and an half later had the lead back in Kanaly’s hands for good.

Four more times they were on the scoreboard before the half’s final buzzer, getting a score each from Hayden Ford and Aaron Maguyon, and a pair from Richie McCartney for a 6-1 advantage at the intermission.

Well on their way to victory, Kanaly made things a little more comfortable by padding their lead with a pair in the second half. Matt Milne recording the short-handed score at 10:05 and Maguyon coming through with his second of the contest at 18:10 to polish off the 8-1 route.

Maguyon’s performance was leader amongst all scorers in the contest with two goals and an assist. Kaplan (2G), McCartney (2A), Austin Dittenhafer (2A) and Michael Grande (2A) were also all credited with multi-point games.
