FOXBORO – One of the most decorated programs in recent Women’s Chowder Cup history, the Boston Lady Whalers started out their pursuit of a U19 College Prospects championship with a win on Friday. They defeated Tier 1 Hockey 3-1 at the Foxboro Sports Center.
Boston came out storming, scoring all three of their goals in the game’s opening period.
Following a scoreless second period, Tier 1 got on the scoreboard in the third courtesy of a Orlahnah Hertlien power play goal, but the goal came with just 2:31 remaining in the contest. Not quite enough time for a rally.
Noel Schaab went down as the game’s winning netminder.
