It’s a perfect 3-0-0 for the Rhody Rebels.

ATTLEBORO – The Rhode Island Rebels made a strong argument for advancement at the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup when they closed out their opening round schedule a perfect 3-0-0 on Saturday morning. They defeated the Eels 5-2 at the New England Sports Village.

It was Rhody in the end, but it was the Eels who got the scoring started, Brantlee Hoffman with the goal before the game was even two minutes old. The Rebels responded before the half concluded, Aidan Forcier and Matthew Almedia with the scores to make it 2-1 at the break.

The story was the same in the second, Ty Elzinga with the first goal of the frame to bring the Eels back to even at 2-2. In the first they responded with two goals, this time it was three for the Rebels. Two more for Forcier and one for Sonny Bianculli closed out the 5-2 win for Rhode Island.

Forcier had an assist to go with his hattrick for a game-high four points. Colin Murray posted his second win of the tournament in the Rebels net.
