2019 Midget Fall Classic; Sunday games – 8a.

FOXBORO –The final day of round robin play at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic kicked off on Sunday morning. The following is a look at the day’s first slate of games.

Rink 1 – Providence Hockey Club U15 1 vs. Boston Jr. Huskies U15 (Fasano) 2:

The Boston Jr. remained unbeaten at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic on Sunday morning. They pushed their tournament record to 2-0-1 with a 2-1 victory over the Providence Hockey Club.

Goals first by Providence’s Troy Senn and then by Boston’s Nicholas Fasano made it a 1-1 game at the halftime intermission. James Tyer’s second of the tournament came 4:07 into the second half to make it 2-1 in favor of the Huskies, where it remained as netminder Spencer Merrick kept the door closed throughout the duration.

Rink 2 – Boston Advantage U15 8 vs. East Coast Leafs U15 1:

Boston Advantaged opened their second day of play at the 2019 Midget Fall Classic with authority on Sunday morning as they laid an 8-1 rout on the East Coast Leafs.

A goal by the Leafs Ryan Auger opened the scoring, but from there it was four goals per half for Boston as they coasted to victory.

Two goals apiece for Joe Cahill and Andrew Concannon paced the goal scoring, but it was Cole Johnson who had the most points on the day, accumulating three assists in the contest.

Rink 3 – Boston Jr. Huskies White (Ward) 0 vs. Middlesex Icemen U16 1:

The Middlesex Icemen notched their first win of the 2019 Midget Fall Classic on Sunday morning as they posted a 1-0 shutout victory over the Boston Jr. Huskies.

Netminders Franklin Zessis and Aiden Ellis took command of the performance as both offenses were virtually shut down for the entire contest. Just once did either of the goaltenders falter.

That moment came at 19:47 of the first half when Jake Donavan and Robert Direnzo set up Zach Micciche for what became the game-winning goal.
