FOXBORO – The Wonderland Wizards U18 opened their stay at the 2017 Midget Fall Classic with a win on Saturday evening at Foxboro Sports Center. They pulled away from Boch Militia in the second half for a 5-2 victory.
Things started well for the Militia. After falling behind 1-0, they rallied for two straight to get on top of the Wizards, 2-1. Boch scores coming from Tyler Harvey and Brendan Haddigan at 10:01 and 18:04, respectively.
As the first half neared its end, however, the Wizards began to breakaway, scoring twice in the closing minutes to take a 3-2 lead into the intermission. Another pair of goal awaited them in the second half to distance themselves from the Militia and secure the win.
Fairfield Prep’s Ryan Eckert bookended Wonderland’s scoring, the forward’s pair of goals leading the victor’s offense. The game’s only multi-point scorer.
