U16 Giants dominate 2018 MFC opener.

FOXBORO – New England Pro-Am Hockey’s final tournament of the season has begun, the 2018 Midget Fall Classic opening play on Saturday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center. And it was a dominant start for the 95 Giants U16, who posted an 8-2 victory over the Boston Jr. Eagles in the first game on their tournament slate.

The game started in favor of the Eagles, Charlie Stevens getting Boston on the board first with a goal at 2:59, but the Giants had the lead by the half’s end, taking a 3-2 advantage into the break.

When the game hit the second half, 95 took firm control. They netted a pair in the opening minute – one each from Brayden Deglamp and Jack Gannon – to extend their lead to three. It was the first two of five in the period, culminating with another score from Gannon with seconds remaining to finalize the 8-2 victory.

The five points credited to Ryan Driscoll (1G, 4A) led all scorers in the contest, while Cole Gamel was credited with the victory in the Giants net.
