BRAINTREE – Kicking off the day’s slate of play at Thayer Academy in Braintree, Tropics Orange doubled up on the East Coast Spartans for a 10-5 victory in College Open play at the 2021 Pre-Draft Showcase.
The Tropics laid claim to the game posting four scores in the first half to take control. A pair from Aidan Bender and one each from Dalton Clodi and Johnathan Lapsa staked Orange their 4-0 halftime lead.
EC Spartans one upped that total with five of their own in the game’s second frame, but the Tropics still topped those five goals by scoring six goal of their own in the closing half. A combined 11 were scored in the half to close out the 10-5 Tropics victory.
Tropics forwards Bender (3G) and Jaxson Roenick (1G, 2A) led the contest in scoring with three points apiece.
