CANTON – After playing to a 4-4 draw on Friday morning to open the 2023 Pre-Draft Showcase, Top Speed Hockey came to life in the afternoon. They hung a dominating 9-1 victory on 93 Hockey Services at the Canton Ice House.
Top Speed came out swinging and did not look back, opening the game’s scoring with four straight goals. Two for Artur Yanchalouski and a goal each for Charlie Vincent and Louis Marcellino accounted for the lead.
Tarik Mrkva put an end to the onslaught and 93 Hockey on the board later in the first half, but rather than swing the momentum, it seemed to insight more from the Top Speed offense.
Returning to the ice for the second half, the eventual victors bettered their goal total from the first with five more strikes in the second. In total, eight different members of the squad ended up with entries on the scoresheet, Marcellino (3G, 1A) and Luc Lampert (4A) leading the way for Top Speed with four points apiece.
Tadeas Bezdek took home the win in the Top Speed net.
