Three-goal second puts Brockville over Aces.

CANTON – The Brockville Braves saved their best for last, using a second half surge to post their first win in their last opening round game of the 2022 Sr. Chowder Cup. It was a 5-3 victory over the Aces in College Open play at the Canton Ice House.

It was an even first half, both teams scoring twice in the opening frame. Giacomo D’alessio and Louis Ruel both scoring for the Braves and Landon Hackler and Joe Verderber with one apiece for the Aces to make the score 2-2 at the half.

Out of the intermission, the Aces took an early lead on a goal from Sammy Renaud. As the game approached the midpoint of the second, however, the Braves took off. Salvatore Pallante scored twice to both tie the game and the put Brockville on top 4-3.

D’alessio netted his second of the game with time winding down to give the Braves a little insurance in their 5-3 victory.
