CANTON – Vanguard Hockey International netted three goals in their opening period of play at the 2023 Pre-Draft Showcase to pace a 3-1 victory over Premier Hockey Group on Friday at the Canton Ice House.
Sebastian Vasicko, Shea Gavin and Jacob DeJong staked Vanguard a 3-0 lead, each with a first half goal.
A late goal by Will Moran put Premier on the board going into the intermission, but also closed out the game’s scoring. Logan Weber coming on in place of Jean-Luc DeGaspe-Beaubien in the Vanguard net, posting the second half shutout to preserve the 3-1 victory.
