FOXBORO – After a draw in their opening match of the tournament, WC Swans Gold notched their first U16 win of the 2024 Women’s Chowder Cup on Friday evening. They defeated Mole HC Premier 3-1 at the Foxboro Sports Center.
The Swans came out and struck for two in the first to pace their victory. Kate Tarr and Lucey Braga each putting one away to send their squad to the break leading 2-0.
Out from the intermission, Madelyn Mulvaney cut into that lead and put Mole on the board just a few minutes into the second half. Just a few minutes later, however, Ryleigh McNelly restored the Swans two-goal advantage.
It was a 3-1 lead that lasted through the game’s duration. Netminder Kenzie Ayou and the Swans defense locking down for the remainder of the contest to close out the victory.
