ATTLEBORO – The Long Beach Sharks held off a late rally from by North River Hockey to go on for the 4-3 win in College Open play on Thursday at the 2022 Sr. Chowder Cup.
North River scored first, but Long Beach put away two late in the first half to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission. The Sharks then extended their lead to 4-1 with another pair of scores to open the second half.
Mike McLean and Cooper Ireland each scored for North River late in the second half to cut their deficit to 4-3, but they were unable get anymore past Sharks netminder Peter Skidmore, who held on for the win.
