Roc City takes down Long Beach to start Day 3.

ATTLEBORO – The first game slated for the final day of pool play at the New England Sports Village was a College Open matchup between Roc City Elite and the Long Beach Sharks. The contest went in favor of Roc City by a score of 3-2.

It looked as though Roc City would roll in early stages of the contest, as they skated out to a 2-0 lead through the opening frame. Thomas Eggleston and Nolan Mallett coming through with the goals.

The Sharks struck back, however, netting two of their own in the early stages of the second to draw things back to even at 2-2. It was Joe Capitano and Anthony Variale with the scores for Long Beach.

It was not until the final five that Roc City was able to find their winning stride. Mallett put away his second of the game in crunch time to give Roc City their final 3-2 victory.

Mallet (2G) and Eggleston (1G, 1A) were the game’s leading and only multipoint scorers. Colby Wagner posted the win in the Roc City net.
