Rapid tops Reider to start Day 2.

CANTON – As Day 2 of the 2022 Mini Chowder Cup got underway on Saturday morning, it was the Rapid Hockey Sniper Kings taking down Reider Hockey 6-4 in ’09 Division play at the Canton Ice House.

Most of the game’s offense came in its first half as Rapid Hockey doubled up Reider 4-2 in the frame. Each of Rapid’s first half goals came from a different skater as Elliot Bibeau-Rivard, Constantin Theocharis, Cole Renaud and Antoine Provencher were each credited with a score. Logan Dougal and Brayden Godon etched the entries on Reider side of the scoresheet.

The second half was played to an even 2-2 score, resulting in the 6-4 final. Provencher had another for the Sniper Kings, with Chris Kelly contributing the second, while Godon got his second for Reider and teammate James Wu notched their side’s fourth goal.

Provencher and Godon each added an assist to their two goals to finished tied with a game-high three points (2G, 1A). Goaltender Emile Marchand was credited with the win for the Sniper Kings.
