CANTON – It was an even tilt when the PG Selects and Quebec Prospects Warriors met on Friday at the Canton Ice House. The two sides skated to a 1-1 draw in ’08 division play at the 2022 Mini Chowder Cup.
Justin Marino got the game’s scoring started with an unassisted tally that put the Selects ahead as the midpoint of the first half approached. Marino’s tally, however, was the only entry on the scoresheet for both sides in the opening frame.
Scoring came at a premium as netminders Timmy Engleman for the Selects and the Warriors’ Rafael Courchesne both stood tall in their respective nets. Each thwarted all by one of their foes’ attempts. Marino had the mark against Courchesne, while Engleman yielded a second half score to Malick Lanouette that put the Warriors on the board and brought the game to its 1-1 final.
