CANTON – The Ogden Mustangs made the most of their opening day at the 2021 Pre-Draft Showcase. They took it to Monkey Mind with a 6-3 victory in Jr. A play at the Canton Ice House.
Things looked as though they were going to go very differently based on the game’s first half. It was Monkey Mind who controlled early scoring thrice for a 3-1 lead at the break. Andre Ducharme, Tyler Walles and Jackson Cole were all credited with a score for Monkey Mind, while it was Matt Harris putting Ogden on the scoreboard.
Games are two halves, however, and the second one in this contest belonged to the Mustangs, who rung up an impressive five to put away the victory. Austin Lambert scored twice, then Lukas Washco and Jack Herron each scored before Jake Meure solidified the final score with an empty-netter, making it 6-3.
