NorthStar, Messier even up at 4-4.

ATTLEBORO – Twos and fours were the numbers at play on Thursday in Attleboro when NorthStar Elite ’07 and Messier Selects ’07 met at the New England Sports Village in the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup. Two teams, two halves, two goals in each for each to make it a 4-4 tie.

It ended in a tie, but momentum swung back-and-forth a bit in the game’s first half. Alex Doenias opened the game’s scoring to give NorthStar a 1-0 lead. Messier then took a one-goal lead of the own, getting a pair of goals from Jaylen Nurse to make it 2-1. Drew Gerspach had the game back to even with his score with just under two minutes remaining in the first half to send the contest to the break at 2-2.

Evenly balanced as all things should be, it was another two goals aside in the second half to preserve the tie. Kenne Clinton and Reilly Gilligan did the scoring for NorthStar, Zack Martin and Peyton Tien for Messier to round out the 4-4 draw.
