New England’s ’05 Crows continue to dominate.

CANTON – Perfection is hard to obtain, but the New England Crows ’05 are about as close as can be to it thus far at the 2018 Mini Chowder Cup. Through their first three games they are a perfect 3-0-0 with three routs to their credit. Their most recent victory coming Saturday morning at the Canton Ice House, where they defeated the East Coast Militia 8-1.

While the goals did not fall as easily as they had in their first two games through the opening period on Saturday morning, the Crows controlled possession for the start, their defense getting in little work in the frame.

Twice the Crows offense came through in the first half. Roshean Nissangaratchie came away with the game’s first goal at 10:23. Davin Nichols netted the second in the final minute of play before halftime.

As the game went on, the Crows just kept getting better, the offensive juggernaut breaking through with ease in the game’s second half. It was a pair for Sam-Luca Thifault, another for Nichols and a goal each for Landan Resendes, Joseph Hurton and James Reen as the Crows put up six in the game’s second half to burry their foe.

In total, nine different Crows were credited with a point in the contest, four with multiple entries on the score sheet. Resendes let the way with a goal and two assists. Thifault (2G), Nichols (2G) and Jack Jin (2A) also had multipoint games against the Militia.

Nick Gerard nearly posted another shutout in the Crows net. The lone blemish against him thus far a power play goal given up in the second half against the Militia.
