Inspire sinks Swans.

FOXBORO – A brilliant second period sparked an Inspire Hockey victory on Friday evening. The result was a 6-1 defeat of the WC Swans Black in U19 division play at the 2024 Women’s Chowder Cup.

It was a tight first period that saw the teams go to the first break tied at 1-1. Ella Cedrone gave the Swans the game’s first lead. A lead that did not last as Catie Putt scored with about four minutes remaining in the frame.

The second period was a much different story. As netminder Evelyn Lacey and the Inspire defensive corps remained locked down on their end of the ice, offense ignited on the other. Inspire struck for five in the middle period to blow the game open.

Each second period goal came from a different scorer as Violet Carroll, Lilly Shaughnessy, Yasmine McKenzie, Anika Singh and Kate Sullivan were all credited with lighting the lame to solidify the 6-1 victory.
