Inspire opens tourney 2-0-0.

FOXBORO – After closing out the first day of play at the 2023 Women’s Chowder Cup with a monstrous 10-1 win, Inspire Hockey made it two-in-a-row early on Day 2 when they defeated the CT Jr. Eagles U19 4-0 midday Saturday at the Foxboro Sports Center.

The action came in the game’s latter stages as the two sides played to a 0-0 draw through the first period. Netminders Evelyn Doyle (Inspire) and Nikki Ferraro (Eagles) keeping everything they faced from hitting the back of their respective nets.

Coming out of the first break, Inspire went for two in the second and two in the third, while Doyle kept the sheet clean in the 4-0 victorious effort.

Anika Singh (2G) and Gretta Hulbig (2A) led the attack. Lilly Shaughnessy and Bella Mondolfi also contributed goals for Inspire.
