Hockey Concepts Midwest Explode in Second

Offensive rally leads to 5-2 victory.

ROCKLAND – A slow offensive start turned into a furious finish Friday afternoon at Bavis Arena in Rockland as Hockey Concepts Midwest rallied in the second half to score a 5-2 win over Team New England.

After a scoreless first half, it did not take long in for the offensive fireworks to begin as Brendan Winslow put Hockey Concepts on the board just 17-seconds into the second half. Winslow’s tally was the first of a three-goal burst in the opening 3:48 as Concepts opened a 3-0 advantage.

Team New England began to climb back into the contest, getting a pair of goals from Cody Nolin less than a minute apart near the middle of the period; scores coming at 14:47 and 15:40 to make it 3-2. The rally did not last long, however, as less than a minute after that Concepts’ advantage was back to two, Savane Kisich scoring at 16:34.

Jake Ustorf pushed the lead to three and sealed the 5-2 victory with his goal at 21:29.

Ustorf (1G, 1A), Kisich (1G, 1A) and Nick Dilisi (2A) all were credited with two points in the winning effort.
