ATTLEBORO – For the Signati Golden Seals and Florida Eels Green ’06, their records remained even as they did to start the opening day of the 2021 Jr. Chowder Cup. The two sides played to a 2-2 draw at the New England Sports Village.
The low scoring affair saw just one goal scored in the game’s opening half. It was a Zakk Spano tally for the Golden Seals at 13:14. It made for a 1-0 lead that was quickly bumped to 2-0 in the second when Ryan Ward scored in the opening minute of the game’s second half.
Down two goals, Florida took advantage of being two men up when Beau Sandman scored a 5-on-3 goal to make it 2-1 at 11:51. The comeback was completed in the waning minutes on Anthony Sasso’s goal at 22:14. The score remained 2-2 until the final buzzer.
Sasso ended as the game’s leading scorer with a goal and an assist.
