Generals Elite open 2015 Pre-Draft with win

Goal and assist each for Dodero and Egan.

WAPOLE – The 2015 New England Pro-Am Hockey Pre-Draft Showcase got underway Friday morning and Boston Generals Elite got their opening round slate started with a 3-1 win over Walpole Express White at Rodman Arena.

It looked as though it would be a long morning for the Express, Generals forward CJ Dodero starting the game’s scoring just 34-seconds after the opening face-off. Walpole settled in quickly, however, Dodero’s goal standing as the only to be scored in the first half.

Moving to the second, this time it was the Epress getting on the board early, Connor Forbes beating netminder Brock Thompson at 1:29 to draw things back to even at 1-1.

Thompson and counterpart Pat Feeley, and their respective defenses, remained steady throughout. Near mid-second, however, the Express blinked again. Mike Egan, responsible for setting up Dodero’s goal in the first, came through to break the tie and put Boston back out front, 2-1, at 17:05.

Alex Vukota then sealed the victory with his goal at 22:05.
