Fitzhenry closes Day 1 with win.

FOXBORO – The opening day of play at New England Pro Am’s 2024 Women’s Chowder Cup came to a close on Friday evening. It was capped off with a 6-3 win for Fitzhenry Hockey over Mole HC National in U19 division play at the Foxboro Sports Center.

It belonged to Fitzhenry in the end, but the game belonged to Mole in its early goings. They had jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a pair of goals from Hanna McDonald and one from Jill Peabody, all within the game’s first five minutes.

Annabelle Elie scored at 4:56 of the first period. It put Fitzhenry on the board and on the path to victory.

Fitzhenry struck for four in the second and then capped it all off with a Marina Boyajian goal in the third to round out the 6-3 victory.

It was Boyajian’s fourth goal of the contest, who also had an assist for a game-high five points.

Netminder Megan Cincotta backstopped the victory for Fitzhenry.
