First half’s the difference as Everest tops Port City.

CANTON – With Day 2 at the 2022 Jr. Chowder Cup starting to wind down it was as the contest between Everest Hockey Academy and the Port City Pirates was winding up that was most crucial. Early offense propelling Everest to a 4-2 win at the Canton Ice House.

Everest put away two difference makers in the game’s first half. A goal each was credited to Henry Du and David Artenosi. Goaltender Julian Arcella backstopped a shutout in the opening frame that left Everest with a 2-0 lead at the half.

The two goals were crucial as both sides netted a pair in the game’s second half. It was William Stratos and Carter Kostuch doing the scoring this time for Everest. Jeremy Insogna and Larry Cullity were each credited with a second half goal for Port City. The first half goals being the difference in the 4-2 win.
