Foxborough, Mass. — FCA Hockey CO outlasted Team Real Speed CO in a back-and-forth contest, earning a 6-5 victory on Thursday afternoon at Foxboro Rink 3 in Senior Chowder Cup action.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
FCA Hockey CO wasted little time taking control, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the opening period. Elijah Luke (#19) scored twice, with his second goal assisted by Ryland Hathe (#14), before Preston Handy (#5) added another midway through the frame. Team Real Speed CO responded late in the period when Preston Sullivan (#28) found the back of the net, but Hathe (#14) answered just over a minute later to restore FCA Hockey CO’s three-goal advantage heading into intermission.
Team Real Speed CO came out strong in the second period, cutting the deficit to one behind two goals from Sullivan (#28) and another from Braeden Blake (#93). FCA Hockey CO answered each push, as Handy (#5) scored his second goal of the game before completing the hat trick less than two minutes later to keep his team in front.
Team Real Speed CO continued to battle until the final horn, with Connor Pothier (#91) scoring late in the second period to trim the deficit to one. However, FCA Hockey CO held on over the closing minutes to secure the 6-5 victory.
