ATTLEBORO – With advancement in the Jr. A division at the 35th annual Pre Draft Showcase still on the table, Arsenal Hockey did what they could to control their destiny in defeating the Carolana Jr. Selects 5-3 on Saturday afternoon at the New England Sports Village.

A strong first half was the key to victory for Arenal. They scored four of their five goals in the opening frame, while yielding just one for a 4-1 advantage at the game’s intermission.

Carolana began to crawl back on the scoreboard in the second as a power play goal from Yianni Tsatsoulis and an even strength score from Spencer Brown cut the deficit to 4-3, but is as close as they came.

An empty net goal from Felix-Antoine Laflamme in the closing seconds and solid goaltending from victorious netminder Tristan Otto down the stretch solidified the 5-3 victory.

The empty net tally was Laflamme’s second of the game, tying him with teammate Tyler Pazin (2A) as the game’s leading point scorer.
