ATTLEBORO – Eels White posted an opening win at the 2021 Pre-Draft Showcase by holding off a second half rally from Little Rhody/DMV Blue CO, 3-2, on Friday at the New England Sports Village.
The Eels came out swinging in the game’s first half. They posted three tallies in the frame to take a commanding, three-goal lead at the break. Xavier Fazzari, Jay Lucca and Ian Dracoulis all credited with a goal. Hunter Coughlin was credited with an assist on Fazzari’s score.
With Little Rhody trailing and a half remaining, Owen Cornett did what he could to turn the tide of the game, potting a pair to cut the deficit to 3-2. That was all the comeback to be had, however, with netminder Jake Brezner shutting things down after Cornett’s scores to preserve the Eels victory.
