CANTON – It was a tight one to open the final day of preliminary round play at the Canton Sports Plex. A late goal all that separated DB Selects from Wolverines Elite in the 2-1 win.
Glenn Wiswell did the damage for DB. Amongst the leading goal scorers in the tournament, Wiswell netted his fifth and sixth of the week in Saturday morning’s affair.
One came early and one came late for the Selects winger, opening the game’s scoring at 6:20 of the first half and then netting the game-winner with just 2:33 remaining in the contest. In the middle was Matt Dresens’ goal. It was the Wolverine forward’s first of the tournament and it came at 10:47 of the second half.
Danny Potter was credited with the win in net. Dylan Vrees had a game-high two assists.
